Today we are announcing that we’ve closed our Series A round of funding, bringing $17.3M (€14.1M)  into the studio to continue building our team and to progress towards launching our first game, codenamed Project-V.

There’s no other way to say it – this is a big one. We’re thrilled about the new partnerships Vela has forged, and we’re so ready to take our talented team and this unique game we’re building and bring them all to the next level. With the close of our Series A round, led by our new partners at Novator with additional investment from Ubisoft and LVP, Vela Games has reached another huge milestone in our mission to unite gamers all over the world.

This follows another exciting moment in our journey: completing our first pre-alpha playtest with players from our Discord community. It was an electrifying experience. No matter how many times you do it, it’s always a little scary to show off your work for the first time – especially at an early phase. However, our players had a lot of fun with the game, saw the potential in what we’re building, and, most importantly, provided us with a wealth of valuable feedback. Thanks to them we have a strong sense of what’s working well in Project-V, and how we can improve the parts that still need work.

Vela will be following up with several more playtests as we improve and add to the gameplay experience. You could be one of our early community members to play the game and offer us your thoughts!
